ANSC 260 - Introduction to Equine Studies


Credits: 3

A review of evolution, historical roles of the horse, breeds, and the modern day western equine industry. Introduction to equine anatomy, physiology, selection, nutrition, health care, and general management. A laboratory component will reinforce lecture material and illustrate basic management and husbandry skills relevant to modern day western horse industry.
