ANSC 270 - Equine Training Theory I


Credits: 2

This course is the first in a two-part series introducing students to the fundamentals of training a horse to be soft, supple and responsive. Students will learn how riders can use their body to guide a horse and how to become part of the horse instead of just a passenger. Students will not be required to ride horses. Rather students will review videos, online lectures and reading assignment and write term papers. Students will also career shadow a local trainer and attend a local horse-related event.

Pre-Requisites: ANSC 164 - Equine Behavior, Groundwork and Safety .
Fees: Course fee required.
